Once logged in, you’ll be redirected to the main dashboard.
Step 3: Navigate to the API Keys Section
From the left-hand menu, click on Developers to open the developer tools.
Under the Developers section, select API Keys.
Step 4: View and Manage Your API Keys
On the API Keys page, you’ll see two types of keys for each mode (test and live):
Publishable Key: Used for client-side code.
Secret Key: Used for server-side code.
By default, the secret keys are hidden. Click Reveal test key or Reveal live key to view them.
Copy the displayed key and save it securely. Note that in live mode, secret keys are displayed only once. If lost, you must revoke or delete the key and create a new one.
Step 5: Integrate the API Keys into Your Tool
Use the publishable key in your front-end or client-side code.
Use the secret key in your back-end or server-side code. Store it securely using environment variables or a credential management system.
Best Practices for Security
Never expose your secret keys in public repositories or client-side code.
If a key is compromised, immediately revoke it from the Stripe dashboard and generate a new one.
For better control, use restricted keys with specific permissions when possible.
I’m amazed at the variety of themes available—over 100 to choose from! Configuring my Stripe and PayPal accounts without extra fees was a big win. And having three stores under one plan? Absolute game-changer!
